Pumpkin Spice
Each truffle net wt .5oz (14g)
4 piece truffle box $1299
In fall days, trees become torches, illuminating our way from summer to Halloween, then on to Thanksgiving and New Year’s. The rich autumn landscape is blessed with new riches that invite you to pause on the magic path into winter as leaves become flowers, and gourds, apples, corn, and vines heavy with fruit fill the landscape.
Like bees extracting nectar from late-blooming flowers, Gnosis draws from autumn’s essence and whips pumpkin seeds and the maply sweetness of coconut sugar into a velvety creme, which we then spice with Autumnal aromas and empowering functional herbs.
These truffles are hand-filled with a smooth stone-ground pumpkin creme, spiced with warming cardamom, nutmeg, cloves and ginger, and infused with superfoods & medicinal herbs for endurance; maca, ginseng, cordyceps. They remind us of a pumpkin pie… dipped in chocolate! The perfect end to a lovely meal or as a gift - especially for those with restricted diets (celiac/gluten intolerance, diabetes/sugar intolerance, vegan/dairy intolerance, kosher, raw, etc).
Pumpkin Seeds
Stone Ground by Team Gnosis! Pumpkins and their seeds were a celebrated food of the Native Americans. In addition to maintaining prostate health, this zinc-rich food aids in bone density, and has been investigated with respect to arthritis. Pumpkin seeds are a wonderful source of minerals, protein, monounsaturated fat, and phytosterols, which are believed to reduce blood levels of cholesterol, enhance the immune response, and decrease risk of certain cancers.
Cardamom
According to the traditional medicine of India, cardamom is known to be “tridoshic” - meaning that it helps to balance kapha, pitta, and vata - the three defining characteristics of physiology in Ayurveda. Cardamom is an effective digestive aid, stimulant, and detoxifying herb. It improves circulation to the lungs and thus may help those suffering from asthma or other ailments of the respiratory system. Cardamom relieves acidity in the stomach, thus dissipating nausea and gas.
Maca Root
Maca is known from Aztec wisdom to improve sexual performance, increase libido, treat infertility, and relieve menopausal symptoms. While it may increase energy, it also has the effect of reducing anxiety and stress. A nutritional wonder, a single maca root contains nearly 60 phytonutrients and is an awesome source of digestible protein. One more lovely gift, Maca powder gives skin a more youthful appearance.
Siberian Ginseng
Ginseng is possibly the world’s most renowned herb for energy, stamina, and physical endurance, memory, mental acuity, and - being an adaptogenic herb - it helps with adaptation to stress by supporting the adrenal glands. Ginseng has also shown to improve the use of oxygen by the exercising muscle, so you can maintain aerobic exercise for longer, with shorter recovery time.
Cordyceps
Cordyceps is found in the highlands of China, Tibet, and Nepal. In traditional Chinese Medicine, Cordyceps is considered to benefit the lung and kidney channels. It is commonly used with the elderly in China as a type of “super ginseng” for rejuvenation and stamina. Because Cordyseps helps increase stamina, energy levels, and endurance, it has become one of the top-selling sports supplements amongst the world’s elite athletes.
Ginger
Ginger has a long tradition of being a strong digestive aid, source of antioxidants, and anti-inflammation herb. Gingerols are potent anti-inflammatory compounds which, when consumed regularly, have shown to alleviate symptoms of arthritis. Ginger warms the body and therefore helps raise body temperature, warding off sickness. Chocolate Girl recommends taking ginger (a shot of juice or strong tea made from fresh root) at the first sign of “flu/cold/sore throat” or upset tummy.
